Volunteer with Avanza 88.3!
Avanza 88.3 is growing nd right now, we’re looking for behind-the-scenes volunteers who want to help us build strong, sustainable bilingual public media in Utah! Once spring arrives, we're also looking for volunteers who want to table at local events with us!
What We Need Most Right Now:
Volunteer Coordinator
- Help organize and support our growing volunteer community
- Assist with onboarding, scheduling, and communication
- Ideal for someone organized, community-minded, and collaborative
Audio Production Volunteers
- Edit interviews and segments using Adobe Audition
- Help prep short-form content for broadcast and digital platforms
- Prior audio or editing experience strongly preferred
Video & Social Media Volunteers
- Assist with short videos, reels, and social content
- Support storytelling for Instagram and other platforms
- Experience with basic video editing and content creation a plus
Volunteer Writers (English and/or Español)
- Write short articles, web copy, captions, and social posts
- Help tell local stories with clarity, care, and cultural nuance
- Experience with journalism, communications, or content writing a plus
Volunteer Copy Editors (English & Spanish)
- Review and polish written content for clarity, tone, and accuracy
- Ensure consistency with Avanza’s bilingual voice and public media standards
Translation Volunteers
- Assist with English–Spanish and Spanish–English translations
- We use AI tools to support translation efficiency, with all content reviewed and refined by human editors
- Ideal for bilingual volunteers with strong language instincts and attention to detail
About On-Air Volunteering
At the moment, we are not actively recruiting new on-air DJs, as we already are in early stage conversations with several folks in the community who have already reached out to us! We are working to onboard these DJs this spring!That said, if you have experience, a unique concept, or a strong local connection, we’re always open to a conversation for DJing in the future! We don't want to turn anyone away!
