The conversation explores the role of Utah's growing Latino community in civic life and the work of Poderistas in connecting and engaging Latinas.

"It doesn't matter what your views are, either you're red, white, and blue, unaffiliated, it's just we meet people where they are," Call said. While immigration remains an important issue for many Latinos, Call emphasized that the community is also concerned about many of the same everyday issues affecting other Utahns.

"We care about drinking water, how much our gas prices are, you know, our groceries, things like that, and we have voices, and we can share our experiences because they impact us the most in some of our everyday living."

Poderistas was founded by a group of ten women, including actresses and activists Eva Longoria and America Ferrera. The non-profit was created empower Latinas and inspire civic participation.
