La Placita: Jessie Singer on Why “There Are No Accidents”

La placita

Coming soon online! In our second episode, Mexican-American entrepreneur and community leader Eric Kraan interviews Jessie Singer, journalist and author of “There are No Accidents: The Deadly Rise of Injury and Disaster—Who Profits and Who Pays the Price.” They explore the idea that what are often called “accidents” are not random or unavoidable events, but instead a predictable result of policy failures and inequality. Singer argues that higher injury and death rates—particularly among immigrants and low-income communities—are often the result of the conditions in which people live, such as inadequate housing and lack of access to resources.

En nuestro segundo episodio, el empresario y líder comunitario mexicoamericano Eric Kraan entrevista a Jessie Singer, periodista y autora del libro There Are No Accidents: The Deadly Rise of Injury and Disaster—Who Profits and Who Pays the Price.
